Bad blood

It was strange when I wanted to write this post, I felt it was a long time since I listened to my good old metal collection and ended up hearing the soundtrack of the Matrix movie by Ministry… the song “bad blood’, which ironically this series had its share of spills.

And now with the all ‘mysterious microphone’ that has appeared, the lyrics to this song sent me chuckling on the second come back series of ‘The bold and the beautiful 2 – The Andrew & Harbhajan affair’, which should once again open the floodgates of utter madness. If you want to know what happened in part 1, can read about it here.

Bad blood – Ministry

“What lies?
Full moon and thoughts collide
We look for answers in those catatonic, dying blood-shot eyes
We ask if vermin are the ones that already learned
Those aren’t tears,
They’re just bad bad blood

Just bad bad blood!

What lies?
He’s finally come alive
Out of these mediocre plentiful things all the time
A steady stream of madness
Conscious to a flood
The clock is ticking for bad blood”

The clock is indeed ticking for bad blood with this new twist to this episode. One thing is apparent, somewhere, someone has cheated the world with utter lies on this incident… whether it is the Indian camp or the Australians, don’t really know now. As it stood before this mysterious microphone that has come up, there was no real evidence to pin anything on anyone and therefore I felt this was unfair and the judgment was a big farce. It was also a farce that Symonds was not warned for “having a go at him”… whatever that meant anyway.

Now the Indian board has questioned this sudden mysterious microphone transcript which has appeared through channel 9 and they are singing “rigged”.

There are two thoughts now on this… one the Indian camp feels jittery which is strange considering they all swore that Harbhajan was telling the truth.

The other one is on Mick Proctor’s (Provoker as I fondly call) statement to the media that neither he, the umpires or the microphones heard anything, which is now all together puzzling.

And to top it comes Justice John Hansen on… “There may be some additional evidence, such as the transcript available from the stump microphone, which was not available to Mr (Mike) Procter.”

How many stump microphones is available in a match anyway? Justice Hansen, true to his legal connections has also used the right word “may” so that is clear.

ESPN-star has confirmed that on that particular day, they had not received the stump-mic feed for that particular day.

So this could mean either that the mic was not working well and channel 9 decided to not share it or publish it, which could then mean that they have submitted whatever half-working stump feeds to the judge.
Or it might be a case where channel 9 failed to share their feed but published it for their channel alone which again makes Proctor’s statement to the media before the hearing very strange considering channel 9 is the official feed for the match with ESPN etc. getting it from them.

One thing needs to come out now, an explanation on how this was not available earlier and why?

Whatever may be the outcome, if there is real evidence on the scenario that Harbhajan said that word, he has to be banned further, locked in a cage, fed bananas all day and suffer the wrath of a blogger on this site for the rest of his life. In the same way, if this evidence showed that the word was not uttered, Andrew Symonds has to be banned, taken straight to Michael Jackson’s surgeons and have him made white, add a detachable nose, change his sex and basically teach him what it takes to be a black man.

And whatever may be the outcome based on this new evidence, some things are apparent:

1. Without evidences, Proctor’s earlier ruling was totally wrong and was in poor light. ICC should help him understand that emotions cannot rule in a dispute.
2. This statement of his shows how unfair this hearing was: “Whatever may have been said between them prior to Harbhajan Singh calling Andrew Symonds a monkey is irrelevant. There is a history between these two players.”

Why, because this is a huge contradiction and he is basically telling the world, that there was bad blood earlier between these two, a few members of the Mumbai crowd ‘abused’ him and therefore it is perfectly ok for Symonds to ‘have a go’ at Harbhajan and therefore it is irrelevant.

What is this? Poetic justice? Revenge of the Zombies 2? Karate kid? Sex, Lies and videotapes?

To start with, I don’t understand how Bhajji who patted Lee on his butt …. (gasp)… with a bat of course (phew) was hostile at all. It was a friendly interaction no different from Brett Lee, patting Tendulkar on his head a couple of time when he got him out, unless Lee’s butt has a different flavour to it (Ok poor joke in poor light). Symonds has to be a madman to react to this or positively and overwhelmingly gay. Lee has remained absolutely silent on this issue and I can tell that Symonds has to be an absolutely lucky bastard to get away with this.

At the end of the day, I don’t care about who was right or wrong on the incident but have focused on what is right to be done, which is where I feel Mike Proctor had not applied his sense to do the right thing on that hearing. If tomorrow, Harbhajan or Symonds is found guilty based on the new evidence, it would not change my point on Proctor handling it wrong at the earlier hearing.

As for the proceedings that are going to be followed in the next few days, it’s all bad bad blood.

I’ll get my Harbhajan/symonds effigy from ebay just in case.

yeah Otts, there seem to be no end to this… now it looks like one side desperately wants to pin the other on a clash of hurt egos.

    Nice post Scorpi…balanced view.

    I haven’t heard Ministry…I’ll check them out.

Hey, even I wasn’t that drastic! I merely recommended a purgatory for the overgrown kids who missed out on a spanking before they grew beards…they’re getting it now.

Soulberry, Ministry as a band is very ordinary… that one song was ok.

Yeah even I thought your post had sense and was not drastic… there were incidences with regard to you-know-who that refs keep silent. Unfortunately for you, some bad apple decided to send you some drastic comments. I don’t think you should keep it moderated completely as a result. Delete and forget should do fine.
