This match is f@$Kin fixed!

That’s it folks! After watching some more atrocious one-sided umpiring happen, I have lost any love to continue watching this series… no more further posts about the series. This match is F@$kin fixed. Read more… »

Hayden’s ton and the umpiring saga continues

hayden_5108.jpgMathew Hayden notched up yet another century and as much as I dislike him, the fact is I cannot ignore him for what he has done for world cricket through his batting. After he gets a start, it is almost written that he will be out only by his own doing almost every time again and again. Read more… »

Bhajji and Tendlya stick it to the Aussies

ten_412008.jpgA great day for the series as such and finally India sticks it to the opposition to throw open the match to a great contest. It was important that Tendulkar and Sourav play well to ensure that the total comes close to the Aussies and they both stuck it out as well as they could. Read more… »

Laxman spreads the cheer

The contest is back and VVS Laxman showed the way on how it has to be done yet again. What a marvelous innings it was and India is interestingly poised for tomorrow’s play. The situation is still tight for India and if early wickets fall once again in the morning session, then it is the same old plight for India. Read more… »

Hogg inspires Australian mauling

hogg_2_1_08.jpgSecond test match of the series… and so far things don’t seem to be looking any different. Australia has posted a fabulous score of 376 in a single day at a run-rate of 4.2… now that’s some mauling.

India bowled as well as they probably could in the initial session and picked up 6 wickets at regular intervals. What should have once again concluded within 200-220 is now heading for a possible 450 plus score, which on this pitch would be a clear match winning total. Read more… »

Australia thrash India

There you have it… Australia jumped, kicked, stamped, mauled and raped India to a huge win. I woke up at 4 a.m looking forward to a possible contest or a fight. 1 hour was all that made me decide to let me catch some sleep. I wonder if this has to be the worst defeat to them in the recent past.

There were no excuses to be made and was at least glad to know that there were no excuses made by Anil Kumble. Read more… »

Day 3 – Australia consolidates to strike India

I couldn’t catch much of the match today and therefore keeping it short. Australia played as well as they possibly could on this pitch to post a steep total of 499 for the Indians to chase. Phil Jacques once again did well at the top and Clarke also chipped in with a fine fifty. Jacques is turning to be very interesting player to watch as he has been consistently delivering. Day 2 - Australia eat Indian crumble pie

27a.jpgThe annoying fact of India’s growing inability in not wiping out the tail quickly ran on even today as Australia posted a very competitive first innings total of 343. The Robin Williams look-alike and possibly gay Stuart Clarke, entertained to lift Australia up to a strong position. Read more… »

Day 1 - A promising match Folks!

india-aus1testWhat an interesting day of play! The first test match of the India-Australia series has shown signs of a competitive test series. Now this match really looks alive and kicking isn’t it? Not yet though!

To start with, I was pleased to see Kumble go in with two spinners because somehow it made sense to play to your strengths and utilize all the experience in hand. I really thought that India should use a two spin attack for the series and exit from their earlier modes in Australia. The pitch was interesting, seems to assist a bit of everything and maybe was a touch sluggish and slow for the batters. The bounce was beautiful. Read more… »
