India-Australia

Kasprovich brings the best out of Sachin

Last night's 175 from Sachin was brutal. It would have sent the biggest of the modern day hitters scurrying for cover dripping wet in their diaper. What was so beautiful and fascinating about that innings was the ferocity of his game that turned up after 10 years of stuffing it in deep in his rather large trouser pockets, where his repertoire of strokes, bank passbooks are safely kept. It was the mid-90's Sachin all over again and it brought me exact memories of the Australian series at Sharj...

Even an India-Australia draw offers a bit of fun

Australia did fabulously well! They may well have some momentum going now. Every Australian batsmen were among the runs and Lee is getting his mojo back. New age cricket went out of the window, the slips were back and so were the pants. India continued the way it has played with some good batting but this time around, the bowlers looked tired. Laxman and Gautam offered good batting lessons and the Australians finally saw sense in their approach which they missed in Mohali. How costly was t...

Australia trashed, lost and strung-out

Day 5 and there was no Alexi Laiho doing a swan song for Australia with a draw.  Zaheer mopped them up in pretty quick time. Johnson might have done a 'dizzy' but couldn't. Australia was truly trashed. I am deeply disappointed with the way Australia played. It is the not the first time Australia has lost a test match and nor will be the last, but I have never seen an Australian team stop short of literally playing the fiddle... No spirit, no fight... So un-Australian. Hell, even in that Perth...

Aussies off to a great start… no spinning worries yet

The Australians are in a good position scoring over 400 runs in their first innings. They shouldn't be able to lose from here. In reply, the Indians so far have gotten to a good start with a lot of senseless risks involved in their game. To start with, both the loudspeakers of the respective teams, Mathew Hayden and Harbhajan Singh, for all the loose talk they gave out, had quite a humbling experience... One left without scoring and the other was totally useless with the ball with redundant i...

India wins the commonwealth series

Finally an exciting match happened and what a match it was! Gripping, tense and good cricket all around. Australia fought fabulously to peg back India to what was turning out to be a huge 300 plus score and India put relentless pressure on the Aussie batting to scrape home. It was the cricket wasn't it? Any anybody who watched the match could have learned many things related to this trade as some good ideas in the bowling department all around by both teams were seen. If Nathan Bracken showed...
