Politically or economically there is no real significance whether it goes or not. For cricket yes it is significant. Though I would like to believe that in a worst case scenario like mentioned in this post, this cricket market will still survive, though it can only through collective strength of other sub-con boards which is crucial.

Scorpi what is the true significance of this series? In either case - if it goes through or if it doesn't?

good post scorpy...the show must go on...

having said that i feel its wise to take two step back to take stock of things sometimes...and thats what india is trying to do...cricket will eventually find its way like its gong to happen with eng series...

there is no point of doing exercise just for the sake of it and using players as puppet (of any nation)

Damith... There are so many, in fact a hell-of-alot people here that 'hate' the BCCI... I'm one of them. But not all accusations thrown against them are true... only a few are in fact true but those are quite bad.

Besides, with regard to the BCCI and some of the other boards across the sub, there is this saying.

There are two types of crooks... the blunt, straight to the point, uncouth ones and the sophisticated, articulate ones.

I prefer the rustic crooks because they don't hide their intentions however evil and are blunt about it. Makes it so easy to keep tab on them.

Whereas these sophisticated, educated crooks do exactly the same things under various pretexts of 'righteousness' moralities to wash it down to the public in mass brainwashing.

Frankly, I will take the blunt one, at least I don't need to spend a lot of time decoding between the lines like from the sophisticated.

On cricketing aspects, if the SL board moves forward in the way they have, their cricket will be isolated in no time. Big decisions now for them.

Cheers... I doubt Tunga will move forward.

True SB... politically I would like to see a joint-military operation, anything else to be is the same old eyewash. I hope the people does not forget like in the past.

On cricket, I'm pretty surprised that ECB is attempting to send in a team. However like in the recent cases, it is all veiled in that security report.

Otts, In terms of cricket, it will indeed pass though there will be a lot of begging on one end. Politically, I hope it doesn't pass... they are getting stronger and more sophisticated by the day. A joint operation is a must.
