LehmannOn his last set of farewell matches of his glittering career, Darren Lehmann smashed 126* runs off 104 balls to script a remarkable victory for the Redbacks in the Ford Ranger one day cup. He was ably assisted by Matthew Elliot, who also remained unbeaten at 133* off 137 balls.

Earlier, Western Australia scored 305/6 on a good batting pitch in their alloted 50 overs, with good knocks from Sean Ervine with 134* off 129 balls and Luke Ronchi with 69 off 58 balls.

Darren Lehmann had announced his retirement from first-class cricket, citing injury concerns and “other frustrations” as the reasons for ending his brilliant 20-year career. Lehmann will make an another farewell appearance in a Pura Cup game starting on Friday.

Hopefully, we would all get to see an another special innings from a great player, who perhaps should have gone on to play much longer in international cricket.
