Our friend Wasim has put up an elaborate and detailed post on the rather difficult issue of the ICL, its role and the way forward.

Hope we could all join in for a discussion over there on the way forward.
Cheers

Aye
Count me out of sharing India with ICL.
I don’t mind if they are recognized by ICC, but then I’d like to see 1) ICL restricted to T20 and 2) most importantly, two teams of each member countries recognized…they can start by recognizing tw additional teams Lahore Badshahs and Pakistanis (imagine they cannot call themselves Pakistan!)…have three Pakistan teams representing their country and three different official PCB’s to begin with. And the route can go along all other member countries and then stop at India…after all it is all of them wanting a split structure in India! Let them split theirs first.
England has been sly and cunning and have roped in with a stanford in circus terms. Now they want to do USA. So if it is OK for them to do it, why crib about IPL and BCCI?
If stanfor’s crotchiness smells good to you all then why not BCCI’s armpit?
No India representation for ICL, by the way.
SB… I am against the ICL being allowed in its current form. I don’t mind private entities in cricket as long as they contribute to the development of cricket in the grass roots which the ICL doesn’t even remotely want to do.
Cheers
Scorpi you cannot change the form of the ICL or put any tabs on it until you give it official recognition…once that happens then the ICL will also have to comply with a lot of regulations…and then possibly we might be able to call Subhash Chandra’s bluff as well…he can do whatever he wants to and get away by playing the ‘unrecognized ‘ card…give him the official status and then put him under the scanner…then the cricket fans of this country will be able to objectively view whether the ICL is doing any good for cricket in this country…
Yes AV… those were the many points we had discussed on Wasim’s blog. Currently he only seeks to get a portion of the recognition in order to get more international players… that won’t do.
