Open season

In all the hurry and blurry lines of cricket played here (India-Aus, ICL) and abroad, let’s not forget that a possibly exciting domestic season is underway.

Do catch all the action on Soulberry’s ‘The cricket watchers journal‘ and his dedicated Indian domestic cricket blog ‘The Ranji trophy Chronicles‘.

And Yes, Soulberry is Riddick – an alien, in case none of you didn’t know.

Also now that you have teams like red, green and blue… how about a toss being the case where the winning captain is the one who says ‘red lorry, blue lorry’ coherently about 10 times.

Cheers

A domestic season which could have been more exciting if the teams had agreed to use BCCI’s new rule of one foreigner in every team…suddenly everyone wants to give young players a chance

Av… been trying to land up on your site and it doesn’t load beyond the header. Do check what is wrong.

somehow its got very boring…even with al the stuff happening… am i the only one feeling this way?

Yep, that’s one heck of a Ranji Chronocle that SB has built. Lot of work must have gone into that. It’s also probably a great place for the rest of us “semi-aliens” (as you’ve put it) to hang out when the action starts. :)

And AV… if the foreigners are Australian, South African, Pak/SL cricketers then it makes more knowledge sharing sense… from what I understood only expat Indian cricketers from other nations esp. England were a bit keen. A Vikram Solanki is not gonna help our boys sadly.

Yes UTP… there is a lull… no doubt… maybe this will shake things out a bit at least here in India. Our domestic tournaments get zero support.

VM… Soulberry has gone on a galactic war in a planet called 606… LOL.

    Hi!

No war man…kid’s having his exams (e’s in 10th so you know how it is a few months before the first boards of your life) and that seriously restricts my TV at home, have a sore foot, can’t take anymore leave from work for the year ( my vacation begins Nov 8 :) )…so I stump around like a grumpy McCain…fuming out of the corners of my lips and doing little else while the series plays itself out. Staying up late to catch the reruns on Neo after the homestead’s gone to sleep doesn’t improve the mood for the next day….and the cycle continues.

It was OK as a youth..now the late hours MAKE themselves known!

That’s…those are the true excuses….now the deep truth. I can’t sustain the enthu for so much cricket watching…so ICL went out of my viewing first. Then I involute into passivity for a couple of days before getting back.

oh dear o dear Soulberry… you are doomed now with your cricket watching now that your son’s exams are around the bend.. the ICL has gone out of the window… the max I can watch is 15 mins before I shut lamenting on the absolute poor quality of cricket being played.

Anyway, we wish your son all the success in the board exam. Make him grit his teeth for now, it will pay a long way forward. So I assume here you are now his official coach :) .

  • Soulberry says:

No, he’s his own coach. Thanks for the good sentiments.
