Good evening All… I have read these comments with dismay. I am a Black woman of Caribbean heritage born and currently living in London. I am planning to visit India in a few weeks for the first time.

This issue of identity and Self loathing is endemic world wide. There is division within our black community regarding skin tone with fairer skin revered as more beautiful. I am pleased that many Black people around the world are now embracing Self, learning our heritage and rejecting the lies and rejects the notions of The Aryan race as Superior.

The issue is a lack of knowledge of ourselves and our history. Black people are subjugated globally. Yet the true evidence of our amazing contribution to history which has been plagerised is coming forth. You see in the tombs of Egypt the paintings are of Black people. For goodness sake the jewels of India are in The Queenof Englands crown and after all this pillage, rape, destruction you will still rever the Master as White? The effects of colonisation has left an idellible print on the minds of people. Subsequent generations who travel will embrace a multicultural society and hopefully in generations this issue will lessen.

I am not put off by visiting India. I will not be offended by stares because I know who I am and I am proud. I feel a deep sense of empathy for those who live under illusions that they would go so far to deny the beauty of Self and wonderful history,

Aryans go world wide in search of spirtuality and culture because they have none, they plagerise and copy. breasts implants, lip inaugaration, studying intently yoga, tantra. You don’t see the irony here?

One thing I applaud the Indians for they have a community and an excellent economic leverage everywhere they go,

veena lala – just my 2 cents being an indian. people here stare at everybody, not just you. it’s one of our disgusting habit, along with public urination, and horrible driving.

so next time you find someone staring, there is no need to take it personally. they would stare at anyone.

indians are racist, and i dont like them. light or dark. even the dark ones are racist to black people so until they can learn to be less racist maybe then GOd will help their country. i also think they arerather unattractive both light and dark. just because u see a few attractive girls does not mean they are all cute. Im a medical student and i have alot of them in my school. very very unattractive, and stupidly racist its disgusting. i had a couple of the guys hit on me, and i was very blunt. African women will never date an indian guy.

Here’s my two-cents. I’am an Negro woman, married for 24 years to a Punjabi Sindhi man. We have a wonderful 23 year old son. In Aug 2009 I retired at 50 and we moved from U,S.A to Pune ,India.I paid my $385 for my P.I.O card and I have every right to be in India. Same as Indians come to my country [ U.S.A ] for a better life, I’am in India for the same reason. Sure they stare at me with Disgust, Disdain, Hatred, Amazement. I’am 50 years old
have a thick skin. I’am shocked at the educated Indians !! With T.V internet Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Tina Tuurner,Barack and Michelle Obama you’d think they’d know that the U.S isn’t only made -up of ”milky white” people.
They only know two places to say I’am from ,Africa and West Indies.When I say U.S.A they’re taken aback !! Are there no multi-cultural studies taught at Indian colleges. My being married to an Indian just makes people recoil in disgust more. One shopkeeper even asked me where I lived. Duh , I live with my husband. When I’am treated nicely I always remember those people fondly. As for all the ”haters”that’s their problem. As for me Iam going to still love Geeta Dutt, Guru Dutt, Govinda, Konkana Sen Sharma, Pani Puri, Idli Dosa & a milllion other things about India
I’ll tell anyone that it’s not easy being of African descent here. Indians have turned ‘’staring ” into an art form. Unashamed
Unabashed, soul-shattering staring.But now I will call them out by staring right back. As long as they can hold a stare, I can hold it longer. Thanks for opening this discussion.

She’s black nevertheless, and there’s no reason to suppose that yellow indian features, like bulging eyes, limp hair, pointy nose, and garlic breath would look or smell any better.

Wasim, be careful when you use the word THEY. I am a woman of color and have never had to play the race card. What I hate about YOU PEOPLE is that you get a pass because of the positive stereotypes of Asians. I have seen and worked with so many incompetent Indian doctors, until I am surprised that anyone would hire them. They all come to America with this attitude of superiority because of their good stereotypes, and think they are better than any other person of color. The honorary white crap is not working and I thank God, that people are now profiling YOU PEOPLE in places like the south. Stay in your own country, if the RACE CARD has such a profound effect on you.

Indians I love you brothers – but isn’t a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Clean up your own backyard of racism and be honest about the hatred you have for the lower caste in India. I guess you’ve just had a little taste of what they receive everyday of there lives. Your lighter colouring from your darker indian brothers will not set you apart in western countries – here you are all Indian and no better than those that are mistreated in india everyday of there lives in India. So how does it feel. So quit your whinging and make everyone in india equal as you are in western countries.

Oh and by the way, I’ve heard the term ’soft racisim’ used quite alot. To the people on the receiving end, it doesn’t feel soft. I bet those dancers felt it was kind of hard actually. The idea that ‘knowing your audience’ and ‘giving them what they want’ – is being used as an argument for not allowing the black girls to do thier job is about as silly as putting every Indian man on TV in England in a turban. In the sixties and seventies, thats how all indians were thought of – as Sikhs. You don’t adapt to the ignorance of a people, you seek to change it. No matter who or where they are.
