World’s fastest bowler competition - 1979
Posted on Dec 03, 2007 by Scorpicity |Here is an interesting video I found, where Richie Benaud is the host for a competition to identify who was the fastest bowler in the world. Looking at it I can’t help wonder over the fact that the current breed of fast bowlers like Lee and Akhtar, who can hit 150 from the first ball could have wreaked havoc if they were playing those days on uncovered pitches.
Any thoughts?

on other thought, what would have happened if some of our current greats (not limited to india) would have played on those uncovered pitches…it would have, for sure, sorted out some pretenders out there…

perhaps the ICC could have a couple of series on uncovered pitches just to kick things up… and see to what level cricket has progressed to.

Dinnie, Ottayan…. jeez I figured it out… the video plays well in firefox but doesn’t appear in IE… says video is not available… jeez this is baffling…. let me see how to fix the compatibility.

Just noticed that this entire site was torn apart in IE… strangely, this video doesn’t work in IE… anyway, this is the link to the video.

Cool otts.. i can’t figure what’s wrong… it seem to be appearing for some and then goes off… am leaving it as it is… not able to figure out what’s wrong with it… cheers
